Chase Bank continues adding to its Northeast Florida branch count.
The city issued a permit June 20 for Marand Builders Inc. of Jacksonville Beach to build-out tenant space for the bank at 9810 Baymeadows Road, Unit 1, at a project cost of $1.5 million.
The 3,000-square-foot space is the former T-Mobile store in Baymeadows Village at southwest Baymeadows Road and Southside Boulevard.
Meskel and Associates Engineering of Jacksonville is the private plan inspector. Nova Engineering and Environmental LLC of Tampa is the private plan reviewer.
Sleiman Enterprises is the landlord.
JPMorgan Chase Bank of Columbus, Ohio, owns the branch network.
The Columbus operations are part of Chase Bank, the consumer and commercial banking business of New York City-based JPMorgan Chase & Co.
The permit comes about a month after St. Johns County issued a permit May 16 at a project cost of $2 million for Chase Bank to build a branch at 604 County Road 210 in the Beachwalk community.
Vericon Construction, based in Mountainside, New Jersey, with an office in Orlando, is the contractor for that 3,432-square-foot building. Jacksonville-based Kimley-Horn is the civil engineer.
Beachwalk developer Falcone Group, through Twin Creeks SPE LLC, owns the land.
Chase has about 25 branches in Northeast Florida and said it will continue to open more this year and beyond.
JPMorgan Chase & Co. Chairman and CEO Jamie Dimon told Jacksonville reporters during a visit Jan. 31, 2024, that the bank planned to add 10 more branches in the metropolitan area. At that time, Chase had 20 offices in the Jacksonville market after it started to build a branch network for its Chase business in 2013.
Chase said the investment is intended “to provide greater access to banking and financial services to more customers and communities to serve the growing population.”
In addition to expanding the branch network, Dimon said JPMorgan Chase may also add back-office operations to its existing mortgage center in the area.
JPMorgan Chase has assets of $4 trillion and operations worldwide. It has more than 4,700 branches in 48 states and the District of Columbia, and more than 15,000 ATMs. Customers can also access services online, by phone and through mobile apps.
