The Farah & Farah law firm, in partnership with Veterans United Craft Brewery, is raising money for Five STAR Veterans Center, a nonprofit that provides safe housing and supportive services for military veterans in Northeast Florida.

A portion of all November sales of Veterans United’s Bavarian-style red ale, “Alert 5 Rifleman’s Red,” will be donated to Five STAR.

“We’re honored to raise a glass to those who fought for us,” Eddie Farah, founder and managing partner of Farah & Farah, said in a news release.

“The commitment and care that Commander (John) Bear and the rest of the staff at Five STAR show toward veterans deserve our complete support. By ordering an Alert 5 Riflemen’s Red, the community is directly contributing to a proven and critical mission.”

The beer’s name, “Alert 5,” refers to the U.S. Navy’s readiness level in which a plane is ready to launch within just five minutes.

“As a veteran-owned and operated brewery, we are immensely proud to partner with Farah & Farah on a beer that highlights and supports the amazing work being done at Five STAR Veterans Center,” Ron Gamble, president and brewmaster at Veterans United Craft Brewery, said in the release.

Farah & Farah has supported Five STAR since 2018, with fundraising efforts and donation match campaigns raising a combined total of more than $362,500.

Five STAR said the support has enabled it to increase first-time calls from homeless veterans seeking safe housing by 25%; increase facility capacity by 10 veterans to support a total of 35 residents; fund a new dedicated case manager; and provide three months of meals for resident veterans. The donations from the firm also helped launch Paws & Stripes, a rehabilitative program for veterans and pets in partnership with the Jacksonville Humane Society, Five STAR said.

“Farah & Farah’s support over the years has been transformative,” said John Bear, commander, USN (Ret.) and CEO of Five STAR Veterans Center. “Their dedication helps us stay on standby, like an Alert 5 aircraft, ready to launch our services the moment a veteran needs us.”

The Alert 5 Riflemen’s Red will be on tap at Veterans United and sold at clubs, pubs and retail locations across North Florida.
