The University of North Florida broke ground Oct. 23 on its Student Success Center, which will house student services and reimagine how students connect, study and succeed. It is projected to open in mid-2027.

“UNF’s newest expansion project is strategically designed with student success at its core,” UNF President Moez Limayem said in a news release. “The Student Success Center reflects UNF’s commitment to providing every Osprey with the advising and support resources they need to thrive academically and personally.”
The Student Success Center is between the Thomas G. Carpenter Library and Fine Arts Center. The three-story, 60,000-square-foot, $46 million building will bring academic services and vibrant study spaces together under one roof, UNF said.
The center will house services including academic advising, student success, career services, tutoring, supplemental instruction, help centers such as the writing and math labs, collaborative study spaces, lounge areas and a full-sized Chick-fil-A.
The building is designed by Schenkel Shultz, a Central Florida architectural and interior design studio, and built by Ajax Building Co., the same company that built Osprey Ridge residence hall and Skinner-Jones Hall.
The project was made possible by Public Education Capital Outlay funding from the state Legislature.
On Oct. 21, the University of South Florida board of trustees selected Limayem as USF’s ninth president.
