A month after a change at the top of its C-suite, another top CSX Corp. executive left the company.

The Jacksonville-based railroad company announced Oct. 29 that Chief Financial Officer Sean Pelkey departed and was succeeded by Kevin Boone, who had been executive vice president and chief commercial officer.
CSX announced Sept. 29 that President and CEO Joe Hinrichs left the company, with former Linde Chief Executive Steve Angel hired to replace him.
Pelkey had been with the company since 2005 and had been CFO since 2022.
The company gave no reason for his departure.
“We thank Sean for his many years of dedicated service to CSX and sincerely wish him well in his future endeavors,” Angel said in a news release.
Boone has been with CSX in various roles since 2017 after nearly two decades in the investment industry.
In addition to his promotion, CSX named Maryclare Kenney as senior vice president and chief commercial officer.
Kenney has been with CSX for nearly 14 years working in various business segments, the company said. Before joining CSX, she served as a captain in the U.S. Army and then held sales leadership and strategy roles at PepsiCo.
“I am pleased to appoint Kevin and Maryclare to these critical leadership roles,” Angel said.
“They are the right leaders at the right time to build on our momentum and position CSX for long-term success.”
