SoFresh, with two locations open in Northeast Florida in Ortega Park and Durbin Park, is building-out in Nocatee after the city issued a permit for work April 9.

RPC General Contractors Inc. of Atlantic Beach is the contractor for the 1,373-square-foot space at 75 Irondale Road, Unit 105, in Jacksonville.

The project in the Marketplace at Nocatee shopping center, anchored by Publix Super Markets Inc., has an estimated project cost of $374,734.

SoFresh says it sells healthy food and prepares meals to order that include gluten-free, keto, paleo, vegan and vegetarian options, as well as kids’ food. Its menu at sofresh.com shows bowls, salads, wraps, quesadillas, sides, sweets, smoothies, cold-pressed juices and other beverages.

Proteins include ahi tuna, chicken, salmon, shrimp, sirloin steak and tofu. SoFresh says it makes its sauces and dressings in-house.

The company also indicates two more locations coming soon to Jacksonville but does not specify locations.

Tampa-based SoFresh says it has about 40 locations open or on the way. It franchises.

The website says Florida native John Williams founded SoFresh in 2013 in Tampa. Clay Donato, who grew up in Sarasota, partnered with Williams in 2020.

Both live in Tampa with their wives and children.

In 2018, with six corporate locations in Tampa and Sarasota, the brand began exploring franchising after a customer expressed interest in bringing SoFresh to Pittsburgh.

That first franchised location opened in 2019 in downtown Pittsburgh.

In 2025, SoFresh grew to 23 locations with 17 more in development.

The site shows 21 locations in Florida and three in Pennsylvania, with units coming soon to Florida, Arkansas, North Carolina, Ohio and Tennessee.
