• City Council President-elect Stephen Joost has heard many mispronunciations of his last name. For the record, it rhymes with “toast,” so think of “joast.” It’s not “juiced” or “yoast,” which are frequent mispronunciations. Joost said that the “rhymes with toast” saying started in first grade. Or, as his council assistant, Celeste Hicks, says, it could also be “Joost with the most.”
