In the wake of the recession, at least seven Duval County hotel ownership groups, including three at the Beaches, filed for protection under bankruptcy laws during the first quarter of 2011.Records show that the ownership groups filed under Chapter 11 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court Middle District of Florida.
