The Northeast Florida Builders Association’s board became the first major organization to endorse a Jacksonville mayoral candidate when they announced last month that they would support Ginger Soud.
Soud, a City Council member, is in a field that includes former development commission director Mike Weinstein, Gate Land Co. executive John Peyton, fellow Council member Alberta Hipps and former Mayor Tommy Hazouri.
The election isn’t until spring, 2003.
Soud is a licensed real estate broker and has been a strong supporter of building and real estate interests.
