Daily's to give away food packages April 3

The Jacksonville-based convenience store chain said there are no requirements but wants to serve those in need.

Daily's announced April 1 that all Daily's Dash locations will provide 100 free care packages to customers adversely impacted by COVID-19.

The packages will be distributed from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. April 3 at the Daily's Dash sites.

Each package will include a pound of deli meat, a loaf of freshly baked bread from Village Bread, chips and sweet treats.

Daily's said there are no requirements and the food will be given first-come, first-served.

“We only ask that if you are not in need, please leave the meal for those who are," said Aubrey Edge, CEO and president of Jacksonville-based Daily's, in a news release.

A list of all Daily’s Dash locations can be found at dailys.com.

“Please find us at the designated table located outside the store entrance at each Daily’s Dash location and follow social distancing guidance if there is a wait for service.”

Daily’s said it “recognizes the hardship caused by the current, necessary restrictions on everyday life resulting in layoffs, furloughs, and reduced hours.”

"This crisis impacts all of us, and it is in times such as these that our community can work together to lessen the impact that is being felt emotionally, physically, and economically," Edge said.

“We know there are many who suddenly find themselves in need, and Daily's is committed to serving our community. Today we do so by giving to those families whose jobs and livelihoods have been impacted in a negative way,” he said.

Daily's said it continues to operate under normal business hours and under Centers for Disease Control and Prevention safety guidelines.

Daily’s is a privately held convenience store chain. Daily’s Dash serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner featuring specialty and made-to-order sandwiches, soups, salads, desserts, soft-serve ice cream, smoothies, and specialty coffee drinks.

All Daily’s sell Shell gasoline and are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
