Diversified Consultants Inc., a full-service collection agency, will add 100 employees to its 170-job center in Greystone Business Park by the end of July.

DCI Vice President Don Zehnder said Wednesday the office has grown over the past year to more than 170 employees. It also opened a 150-job office in Portland, Ore., in August 2012.

“The expansion of our business was driven by the many accounts that we service. We have all the major cellphone companies as our clients plus two of the major cable companies,” Zehnder said.

To accommodate the growth, DCI is building out another 12,560 square feet of space in Building 500 at Greystone, which is at 10550 Deerwood Park Blvd. The city approved the permit Monday. The Angelo Group Inc. is the contractor for the $110,000 project. Ken Smith Architects is the architect.

Plans show offices, open office area, conference rooms, a work and copy area, and a break room and lounge. Construction should be completed by late May.

DCI now occupies 15,000 square feet at Greystone in Building 300.

The DCIcollect.com site says the Jacksonville-based company began in 1992 with a handful of employees in a small office near Jacksonville Beach. In addition to the growth to Greystone, it opened a 12,000-square-foot facility in Portland.

“The strategy for this office was so we could have disaster backup and be able to call our West Coast accounts in real time,” Zehnder said. He said job applicants could email [email protected].

TOTE HQ build-out OK’d

Also at Greystone Business Park, the city approved the build-out for the TOTE Services Inc. in Building 600.

Kendale Design/Build General Contractors LLC is the contractor for the 8,070-square-foot project, shown on the approved permit at $530,234.

That’s up from the estimated cost of $375,000 on the permit application.

Greystone is a seven-building, 212,240-square-foot park at 10550 Deerwood Park Blvd. owned by Taurus Investment Group.

TOTE Services Inc., a shipping management company, is moving its headquarters from Moorestown, N.J., to Greystone by mid-July, relocating 15 people and hiring 15 more.

TOTE is moving senior leadership, back-office functions, purchasing and payroll, and engineering and other expertise to manage third-party vessels for commercial owners and government clients.

The Greystone location also is convenient because sister company Sea Star Line LLC also is based at the business park.

TOTE Services is one of six operating companies owned by TOTE Inc. TOTE and all of its subsidiaries are members of the Saltchuk Resources family of brands. Saltchuk is a family-owned private investment company in Seattle.

Adler buys Massey Motors building

Massey Motors Inc. sold its Massey Motors building in St. Nicholas to Eagle Global Jax LLC, led by interior designer Gary Adler.

Adler was out of the office and could not be reached for comment Wednesday.

Eagle Global bought the building, at 2434 Atlantic Blvd., for $550,000. The sale closed April 17. Massey Motors issued a purchase money mortgage of $464,000 for the sale.

The mortgage was made to Eagle Global and Planet9 Investments LLC, also an Adler company.

The two-story, 6,500-square-foot building sits on 1.68 acres. It was built in 1957 and its 2014 assessed value is $544,300.

Adler Interior Design Associates Inc. is based at 5015 River Point Road.

The Massey Motors building formerly leased space to Jacksonville Community Council Inc., which moved at yearend 2013 to WJCT Studios on the Downtown Northbank.

Richard Massey said Wednesday he could not comment about Adler’s plans, but he said Massey would lease back half of a floor of space there for six months to a year.

Richard Massey is vice president of Massey Motors and Massey Properties.

Massey said the company was a third-generation organization and that three Massey family members continued to work there.

He said his grandfather built the building in 1957 as Atlantic Discount Co., the financing arm of the car business. He said Massey Motors was the corporate office for multiple dealerships in the state but has sold them to partners, with one remaining in Orlando under Massey ownership.

William Walter Massey started the business in 1938 in Jacksonville. At one time, the company had four dealerships in Jacksonville and 13 total in Florida.
