Farah & Farah awards two scholarships

A match with the Florida Prepaid College Foundation covers the in-state tuition and fees for two high school seniors.

Farah & Farah recognized two Jacksonville high school students by awarding each the law firm’s Empowering Greatness Scholarship.

Andre Bodison, a senior at Andrew Jackson High School, was chosen for the scholarship for maintaining a 4.4 GPA while working three jobs, participating in community leadership groups like Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida, the Wildlife Immersion and Leadership Development Program and the National Honors Society and for his dedication to end gun violence.

Mykal Bolden, a senior at Jean Ribault High School, received the scholarship for maintaining a 4.1 GPA. He is a member of organizations including Young Decision Makers, 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project and the TRIO Program, and for his advocacy to end gun violence.

His scholarship application included an essay detailing how he witnessed a triple shooting at a Raines vs. Lee football game in 2018.

The scholarship is a dollar-for-dollar match with the Florida Prepaid College Foundation to cover tuition, registration and local fees for two years at any of Florida’s public colleges or universities.
