Livewell Animal Hospital plans to add two St. Johns County locations to its network of veterinary clinics across 17 states and Washington, D.C.

The first is planned at 3735 Longleaf Pine Parkway, Suite 218, in the Shoppes of Aberdeen in a 4,445-square-foot space formerly occupied by Aberdeen Liquor.

A page on Livewell’s website lists the Saint Johns store as “coming soon” but does not include an opening date.

Delauter Inc. of Crystal Lake, Illinois, is the contractor at an estimated project cost of $1.2 million.

A second location is planned further south at 2781 Florida 16 near the St. Augustine Premium Outlets, directly across from Adventure Landing, the amusement park that closed April 12.

That Livewell location received a sign permit March 27 and is confirmed on the company website. Jacksonville-based Prime Sign Installation is the installer.

Livewell clinics provide primary and urgent care for pets, and feature in-house pharmacies and surgical suites, according to the company website.

Orginally in the Southern Veterinary Partners porfolio, in late 2024 SVP merged with Mission Veterinary Partners to form Mission Pet Health, which now provides clinic oversight for the Livewell network of clinics.

Under the ownership model MPH manages operations, including, staffing, human resources, payroll and marketing, veterinarians provide day-to-day leadership and have autonomy over how a location is run without personal financial risk involved with startup costs. They are also elligible for profit sharing, according to the company website.

Most locations operate 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, with some offering Saturday morning hours, according to the company website.
