The Jacksonville Daily Record won 16 awards for editorial and advertising excellence, including first place in an all-division honor for government reporting, at the 2026 Florida Media Conference.
The awards were announced June 4 and June 5 at the Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista.
In the 2026 Florida Press Association Weekly Newspaper Contest, the Daily Record won 11 awards.

First-place awards went to the staff for Website Excellence, retired editor Monty Zickuhr for Overall Graphic Design, and Ric Anderson and Joe Lister for Roads & Transportation reporting and State & Local Government Reporting.
The state and local government award, also known as The TaxWatch Award, encompasses entries from all three divisions of the contest. The Daily Record competes in Division B, publications with print circulations of 4,000 to 15,000.
Anderson and Lister won the award for their work on the city of Jacksonville’s 2025-26 budget. Anderson is editor of the Daily Record, Lister is a staff writer.
The two won the Roads & Transportation award for a story on the Jacksonville Transportation Authority’s Neighborhood Autonomous Vehicle Innovation system.
In the 2026 Florida Advertising Media Executives Creative Excellence Contest, Daily Record graphic designer Codi Rinehart won first place in Real Estate & Development (Digital/Social) for RPC General Contractors Inc. and in Home Improvement/Services (Digital/Social) for NexGen Roofing.

Zickuhr won second place for Front Page Makeup, Page Design and Information Graphic. He also shared a second-place award with contributing writer Mark Basch for Breaking News Story for their coverage of CSX replacing CEO Joe Hinrichs with Steve Angel.
Anderson won second-place awards for Local Government Reporting and In-Depth Reporting.

Staff writer Dan Macdonald won third place in Health, Medical & Science Reporting for a feature in the Daily Record’s annual Healthcare Innovators edition about an outpatient procedure being used to treat hypertension.
“We strive to provide our readers with the best coverage of business, public affairs and the legal community in Northeast Florida, and these awards are a testament to our effort,” Anderson said. “It’s rewarding to see our peers in the Florida news industry recognize the quality of our work. I’m very proud of my colleagues.”

Rinehart won second place in the Advertising Campaign category for Dixon Link Capital and in the Auto/Boat/RV (Print) category for Tom Bush Family of Dealerships.
She won third place in the Event (Digital) category for Jacksonville Business Professionals.
