Three months after parting ways with the Jacksonville Jaguars, former team executive Drew Frick has joined Major League Baseball’s Tampa Bay Rays.
Frick, former senior vice president of real estate and development for the Jaguars, updated his LinkedIn page to show he is serving as senior vice president and general counsel of the Rays as of July 2026.
In September 2025, the sale of the Rays to Jacksonville businessman Patrick Zalupski closed days after MLB owners OK’d the transaction.
Zalupski founded Dream Finders Homes in 2008 and built it into a Fortune 1000 company with $4.4 billion in revenue in 2024.
Also part of the ownership group are Bill Cosgrove, CEO of Ohio-based Union Home Mortgage, and Ken Babby, founder and CEO of Fast Forward Sports Group.
On April 16, the Jaguars announced in a statement that Frick was no longer with the team. The statement did not provide a reason for his departure.
Frick joined the Jaguars in 2022.
Before that, he was president of GATE Lands, the commercial and residential real estate development arm of Jacksonville-based GATE Petroleum
