The Happy Grilled Cheese, the popular food truck purveyor of more than 50 rotating menu items like the “Mayport Melt” and the “French Toast Melt,” intends to open its Five Points restaurant in April.
“Jacksonville’s Original Gourmet Grilled Cheese Food Truck” is renovating space at 1029 Park St. to accommodate 37 indoor seats and patio dining in the back for 39, plans show.
Compass Builders & Renovators Inc. is the contractor and ZONArchitecture is the architect for the $106,000 build-out.
The Happy Grilled Cheese, started by Anthony Hashem, offers a full menu of gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches and a catering service for a range of events.
The food truck will continue to run six days a week after the restaurant opens.
