Hotel notes: Tru by Hilton takes step near airport; Comfort Inn & Suites to Collins Town Center

Campfield Commons seeks hotel; Cambria to Hampton Village.

Among the latest hotels checking into the market:

The city issued a conditional capacity availability statement for a 105-room Tru by Hilton hotel on 2.95 acres at Airport and Ranch roads near Jacksonville International Airport.

It’s shown as a 50,000-square-foot building and a pool. The property owner is USA Express Inc. of Miami and the developer is Lake City Hotels Inc.

It would be one of five area Tru hotels. One is open in the Town Center area and three are planned in Arlington, Mandarin and St. Augustine.

Comfort Inn & Suites to Collins

The city issued a permit for Nashbuilt Inc. to build a four-story Comfort Inn & Suites on 1.3 acres at 8001 Parramore Road in Collins Town Center at a cost of $7.9 million.

The 46,239-square-foot hotel is planned near the Costco in Southwest Jacksonville. CR 3 Hospitality is the developer.

Plans indicate the hotel will be up to 89 rooms and will have a pool.

Hotel at Campfield Commons

JEA issued a service availability letter for a 122-room hotel at Lamb Tail Lane in Campfield Commons at Anna Eliza Lane and RG Skinner Parkway.

Mel Valiquett, vice president of Murphy Land and Retail Services Inc., said the site is under contract with Concord Hospitality for a 122-room extended stay hotel, but said the flag details are confidential.

Concord Hospitality developed the Hyatt Place Jacksonville.

Cambria to Hampton Village

The city is reviewing a permit application for Ash Construction LLC to build a six-story, 90,798-square-foot Cambria Hotel at 7800 Ozark Drive.

Ash Properties Inc. said in November it intends to develop a 128-room Cambria Hotel on 3.4 acres at 7826 Ozark Drive in Hampton Village, east of Interstate 295 near Baymeadows Road East in South Jacksonville. Cambria is a brand of Choice Hotels International.
