‘Rolling Remembrance’ relay arrives Tuesday at PepsiCo Jacksonville

In remembrance of military members who lost their lives while serving the U.S. and to honor their surviving families, PepsiCo North America Beverages is conducting its third annual relay, “Rolling Remembrance,” to help spread awareness for Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation.

This year’s “Rolling Remembrance” relay is a 7,000-mile journey that began in Seattle on April 24 and ends in White Plains, N.Y., on May 25. Using normal business routes, military veteran PepsiCo North America Beverages drivers will pass off a flag at 42 relay points.

Rolling Remembrance will visit PepsiCo’s Jacksonville headquarters Tuesday. The public is invited to the free event at 5829 Pepsi Place from 1:30-4 p.m. The company will honor surviving military children, as well as providing giveaways, food and beverages.

This year’s event kicks off Military Appreciation Month, which includes Children of Fallen Patriots Day on May 13. Officially proclaimed by mayors and governors throughout the nation, including Gov. Rick Scott, Children of Fallen Patriots Day recognizes the bravery of military children who have lost a parent.

Children of Fallen Patriots awards college scholarships to children who have lost a parent in the line of duty.

As the flag moves from region to region, drivers and PepsiCo North America Beverages representatives will show their support locally by cheering on the drivers and taking photos to share on social media with the hashtag #RollingRemembrance.
