• Mike McCorvey has joined CenterBank as a senior vice president. He had been with Prosperity Bank.

• Chamber chair Lynn Pappas will lead the annual Washington trip, scheduled this year from April 30 to May 2. The lobbying trip will allow participants to meet with top congressional leaders and staff members to discuss issues important to this area. The trip is being coordinated by the JEA’s Jordan Logue, the Federal Issues chair of the Chamber’s Government Affairs Committee. The group will leave April 30 at 7:30 a.m. and will spend Tuesday afternoon, all day Wednesday and Thursday morning working on Capitol Hill. Accommodations will be at the Loew’s L’Enfant Plaza. The trip cost is $1,240 and includes accommodations, travel on Delta Airlines, conference materials and some meals. Reservations should be made through Kathy Bolesworth at 366-6675.

• The U.S. Small Business Administration has extended the deadline for economic injury disaster loans to April 22. The original deadline was January 21. The loans are available to eligible small businesses that suffered substantial economic injury as a direct result of the September terrorist attacks. The loans are intended to provide capital to pay ordinary and necessary operating expenses. The interest rate is four percent and there’s a maximum term of 30 years. Information on the loans is available at the Chamber’s Small Business Center, 924-1100.
