The Gator Bowl/Fellowship of Christian Athletes held its luncheon Friday at First Baptist Church. Rich Griffith, former tight end for the Jacksonville Jaguars, was the emcee. Members from both the Florida State University and Virginia Tech football teams were present. Frank Reich, former quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, was the keynote speaker. Reich poked fun at himself, pointing out that his stats revealed he had the most fumbles of any player in an NFL game. He compared the football playbook to God’s instruction book, the Bible, and the importance of communicating with your “coach.” Approximately 1,180 tickets were sold for the luncheon.
