• The Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra opens its three-concert 2002 Winn-Dixie Starry Nights at Metropolitan Park Saturday with The Pointer Sisters. The gates open at 6 p.m. and the concert beings at 8:15 p.m. Other shows in the series include Trisha Yearwood May 18 and David Clayton-Thomas with Blood, Sweat & Tears June 1. • Firehouse Subs is holding its annual doubles tournament May 17-19 to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. For the first time, women will be able to enter the tournament. The ladies match will be held at Williams Family YMCA. The men’s is at Deerwood Golf & Country Club. The matches begin at 8:30 a.m. daily. To play, applications are available at Firehouse, or call Kristen at 886-8300. The deadline is 5 p.m. May 15 and the fee is $40 for person.

• SpongeBob SquarePants, the Jetsons and the Banana Slug String Band will participate in the Museum of Science & History’s One & Only Genuine Original MOSH Party Saturday from 1-6 p.m. at Treaty Oak Park. For information, call 396-7062.
