As part of a nationwide celebration of Law Day, 26 applicants were naturalized as American citizens last week at the U.S. Courthouse. Judge Roberto Arias, a Cuban immigrant, spoke on the freedoms the new citizens will enjoy and the obligations that come with them.“A lot of blood and tears have been shed to preserve our Constitution,” said Arias. “With privileges come duties. Each of you should work to protect these rights for your children and your children’s children. Get involved in your community and vote.”
