JBA elections are Thursday

The Jacksonville Bar Association will have its annual meeting Thursday and there will be a contested election for seats on the board.

There are nine nominees for five vacancies, and balloting will conclude during the reception that follows the golf and tennis events and precedes the dinner at the Deerwood Country Club.

The top positions have unopposed candidates: Bill Joel for president and James Moseley Jr. for president-elect.

The nine candidates for the board are Robert Devine, Sandra Mathis, Caroline Emery, John McCorvey, Michael Freed, Carol Mirando. Reginald Luster, Alan Pickert and Donald Mairs.

The golf starts at 1 p.m. and the tennis begins a half-hour later. Dinner will be served at 7.
