As you begin preparing for the upcoming holiday season, please consider helping those who are not fortunate enough to share in the blessings abundant this time of year. Senior citizens in Jacksonville have been cheered in years past by the efforts of the Jacksonville Bar Association’s Holiday Project. In association with Meals on Wheels/Urban Jacksonville, members and friends of the JBA sponsor senior citizens who would not otherwise have a holiday celebration. Sponsors are provided with a packet in early November containing all necessary directions and forms. Contact is made through mail with a senior citizen, who will select a gift from a list, and the sponsor purchases and wraps the gift. The sponsor may take the gift to the JBA offices for delivery, but may increase the holiday spirit by personally delivering the gift to the senior citizen.

The entire sponsorship process involves a minimal amount of time and money, but the rewards are priceless. The Holiday Project Committee requests your participation in this heartwarming and worthwhile project. Please share your holiday spirit with these less fortunate individuals. To participate in the project, please fill out and return the form as noted in this month’s Bar Bulletin or call Sonya Hoener, chairperson of the Holiday Project Committee, at 398-0900 or Diane Gill at the Jacksonville Bar Association, 399-4486.
