BBQ and a little music

The Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra hosted a casual dinner at the T-U Center last week to introduce the symphony in a fun and relaxed way. Dubbed the Barbecue of Seville, the event was marked by an outdoor barbecue with a concert following in Jacoby Hall. The concert showcased popular operatic overtures such as the Barber of Seville, which is spoofed in a familiar cartoon featuring Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd. “The concert is all about pumping up downtown and getting more people involved in the symphony,” said media relations manager Paul Witkowski.
