Jacksonville Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver, along with representatives from The Haskell Company, led a tour of the Alltel Stadium improvement project Friday afternoon.

Stressing the project is “on time” and “within budget,” Weaver said the stadium will be the “best NFL stadium in the country,” when construction is complete in August.

“We’ve done our best to make the most fan friendly facility out there,” said Weaver. “It is something to be proud of.”

Preston Haskell, chairman and founder of The Haskell Company, said he was also pleased with the project. Haskell, as part of a joint venture, originally provided construction management services for Alltel in 1995.

“We’re building smart,” said Haskell. “Combined with the construction in 1995, we’re well below the cost of the newer facilities today.”
