Reduced ticket pricing, extended payment plans and a new head coach have had an overwhelmingly positive impact on Jacksonville Jaguars season ticket sales.
“We’re over halfway there to meeting our full season goal,” said Dan Connell, senior vice president of sales and marketing for the Jaguars. “We’re at about 60 percent now and we’re already over 300 percent from where we were last year. Plus, this is the time of year when ticket sales really start to pick up.”
The season ticket sales goal has been set at 60,000.
Connell added Saturday’s Fan Fest was the “best draft day event” the Jaguars have ever had.
“We had a great day and a real nice crowd,” he said. “We’ve had a major push for better ticket sales and we’re very pleased with what we’re seeing. We’re getting a wonderful response.”
Though Connell predicted the reduction in the pricing of tickets would help, he credited the arrival of new head coach Jack Del Rio as the real impetus behind the early success.
“Everyone’s very excited [about Del Rio],” he said. “He’s creating a real buzz inside and outside of the stadium. People are really looking forward to our new season and our new approach.”
