Richard R. Dostie is now venturing into his first commercial project, recently breaking ground on Kingsouth Office Park, a preplanned flexible con- dominium office park designed specifically for small to medium businesses. Construction on the project commenced in late December and completion is scheduled for the third quarter of 2003. Coppenbarger Homes is beginning construction of homes in Silver Leaf, a subdivision of OakLeaf Plantation.
The Coppenbarger Silver Leaf subdivision will encompass 375 lots of the 6,400 acre OakLeaf Plantation, located just southwest of downtown Jacksonville, in Clay and Duval counties. OakLeaf Plantation will be Jacksonville’s second largest development with approximately 11,000 homesites. Coppenbarger also has new spec homes at Pablo Bay. It’s the eighth phase of the project and only 12 homes remain. The new spec homes will be the Rosecliffe and San Marco models. An expansive renovation project of community amenities at Osprey Cove is continuing and on schedule for completion this year, according to the LandMar Group, LLC. “Our renovation project, which is scheduled for completion by mid-2003, is designed to increase the amenities we have available at Osprey Cove,” explained Project Manager Jim Cullis. The improvement project underway includes a complete renovation of the recreation center, The River Club, featuring a totally redesigned aquatic center and park on the St. Marys River. The River Club will also be home to a completely new state of the art fitness facility, tennis complex, event lawn and more. The facility also includes a boat ramp with direct access into the St. Marys River and dock along with a new kayak and canoe launch. A new Sales and Information Center will be opening in March. The 2,500 square foot facility will be located at the main entrance on St. Marys Road.

North Florida Builders finished 2002 with over $25 million in sales, achieving a new company record. The company completed 45 new home sales during 2002, with the average sales price at over a half million dollars. “During 2002, we closed 15 percent more than the previous year,” said owner and CEO Howard White. “The number of new home contracts written was even higher. We’re optimistic that home sales in Northeast Florida will continue to be strong in 2003 and we expect to exceed last year’s closings by 15 to 30 percent.” North Florida Builders is now building in seven Jacksonville area communities, including Plantation, Julington Creek Plantation, World Golf Village, Pablo Bay, Palencia, Plantation Oaks, and its newest waterfront community, Newport Harbor in North Jacksonville. A large part of their business is also building on customer-owned lots.
