State Rep. Dick Kravitz received one of 12 statewide awards last week from the Florida Association of Counties in a ceremony at The River Club.

“Dick has stood up against mandated funding at all levels,” said FAC executive director Mary Kay Cariseo. “If a bill goes through the legislature, Dick wants to know how the program will be funded, rather than letting the County or City have to take the burden.”

About 50 attended the luncheon, including 10 Jacksonville City Council members, who are considered county officials due to the consolidated government. Also present was Sheriff John Rutherford and Tax Collector Mike Hogan, Reps. Audrey Gibson and Don Davis and a number of officials from Clay and St. Johns counties, which also fall into Kravitz’s district.
