Downtown is booming with construction projects and one — the Amsterdam Sky Cafe — is nestled between the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville and the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena. Though co-owner Mark Jackson originally eyed a June opening, unexpected setbacks pushed the opening to September while “final details are wrapping up.” The cafe plans to “offer a full menu and full bar from 6 a.m. to midnight,” while international sporting events will be shown on the first floor sports bar via satellite. A second floor blues club should open later in the fall, making live entertainment an option.
