The Jacksonville Jaycees hosted a Mid-Summer Soiree Saturday night to benefit the Snyder Music Center, home of the River City Band.

The former church, built just after the Great Fire of 1901 and located across from Hemming Plaza, is undergoing a restoration process, but a significant chunk of State funding was lost because cutbacks.

The event was held at the music hall so that party-goers could see where their support was going: into the second phase of construction.

Guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, spirits and music from the River City Band.
