The ballroom at the Adam’s Mark Hotel was transformed into a bridal boutique last week with a wedding dress show, benefiting the Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation.
The non-profit organization accepts wedding gowns to sell at bridal shows around the country, using the profits to give women diagnosed with breast cancer a final wish, whether it’s a trip to Hawaii or a laptop computer.
“Half of the gowns come from women who send them in after their own weddings,” said Making Memories co-founder Fran Hansen. “The rest are new and come from bridal boutiques and shops.”
Making Memories also accepts diamonds and estate jewelry and turns gowns that aren’t sellable into quilts.
The organization will be in Florida for the rest of the month, making stops in Plantation and Orlando.
