Tuesday morning, a group including City Council member Lynette Self and Council member-elect Sharon Copeland, moved one step closer to finalizing an ordinance allowing Council members the option of establishing “satellite offices” in their respective districts. Following minor rewrites, the proposed ordinance is expected to be on the May 13 Council agenda. “I’m pleased with what we’ve done,” said Self. “I believe this to be a good piece of legislation that will allow Council members to be more accessible to their constituents at a minimal cost to the City.”
