In preparation for the tree lighting ceremony scheduled for Friday, Landing owner Tony Sleiman climbed into a cherry picker Monday morning to put a star atop the 55-foot Norwegian spruce. The star, measuring in at nearly seven feet, will be lit during Friday’s ceremony. “A lot of people don’t know this,” said Mike Tolbert, a public relations consultant for the Landing, “but the Landing actually pays for the tree. We like to think of it as our gift to the rest of the city.”
