Across from Hemming Plaza Thursday morning, members of Fire Department’s Urban Search & Rescue Team were poised atop the five-story Jacksonville Museum of Modern Art building, ready to rappel down the front of the museum. They were there for the “Jump for JMoMA” kickoff of the museum’s public portion of its capital campaign project. Jacksonville Jaguars co-owners Wayne and Delores Barr Weaver presented the museum with a $500,000 check to get the fund raising started. “This museum is a catalyst for great things,” said Delores Weaver, as she issued a challenge for others to match the grant. JMoMA officials hope to raise $3 million.
