• The lot at the site of the now-demolished Coliseum is being used for parking but won’t be paved until after the Jags season ends. It’s being rolled before games to keep the dust to a minimum.

• The American Bar Association just completed its on-site evaluation of the FCCJ Legal Studies Institute as preparation for approving the school’s paralegal program. Formal approval of the program is expected in the spring.

• U.S. District Court Senior Judge William Terrell Hodges will be in Washington, D.C., Wednesday to be presented the Devitt Distinguished Service to Justice Award in a ceremony at the U.S. Supreme Court. The award, from the American Judicature Society, is presented annually to the most outstanding federal judge in the country for exemplary skills in scholarship, opinions, and contributions to the community and civic organizations. For many years, Hodges was a visiting judge in Jacksonville and a permanent sitting judge in the Jacksonville Division of the Middle District of Florida. “The judge is the most wonderful man I have ever had the privilege to know, both professionally and personally,” said one of his former clerks, attorney Marjorie C. Allen. “I think this is a great honor, and he is certainly most deserving of it.”

• There’s two new faces in the JEDC offices. Jeanne Miller, of the General Counsel’s Office, is the new director of Business Development Services, replacing Roslyn Phillips, who is now the City’s Neighborhoods director. Jorina Jolly will be special projects manager. She replaces Kara Church.

• Jags defensive lineman Marcus Stroud has purchased a new home in Pablo Bay. Price: $595,000.

• T-U editor Pat Yack has a new bride, Suzanne Downing, communications director for FreshMinistries.
