Five organizations received charitable contributions Wednesday from the Jacksonville Chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police. The recipients were the American Heart Association, Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS), the Police Athletic League (PAL), Sickle Cell Disease Foundation and the Spina Bifida Association. Each group received $4,000 except for PAL, which had already received $40,000 from the FOP this year. The FOP lodge has given away approximately $100,000 in 2003 for the betterment of the community and law enforcement programs.
