• The Salvation Army has scheduled a “Facilities Tour” for Oct. 21. Stops along the way include the non-profit group’s Senior, Child Development and the Adult Rehabilitation centers.

• Juliette’s in the Omni has started a frequent diner program. After five lunches or dinners at the restaurant, the sixth meal is free. Also at the Omni, the Florida-Georgia Extravaganza is scheduled for Oct. 31-Nov. 1. Hours depend on the game time. The weekend drink specials, promotional freebies and satellite television viewing are open to the public.

• Susan N. Hughes, vice president of environmental services for JEA, has been appointed by Gov. Jeb Bush to a three-year term on the St. Johns River Water Management District’s Governing Board.

• Gutierrez plays Beethoven starting Thursday at 8 p.m. at the T-U Center. The concerts, part of the Wachovia Masterworks Series, continues Friday and Saturday. Words on Music begins at 7 p.m. Post-concert Talkback, following the Saturday performance, will be hosted by Arthur Crofton.
