Cindy Voyles is a site agent in the new ICI Homes community, Highland Glen, on Beach Boulevard near Hodges Boulevard.
HOW LONG WITH ICI?
She has been with the company for eight years. During that time, she has marketed Windsor Parke, Broadwater, Coquina/Tradewinds, Marsh Island and Hampton Park communities. She started marketing the Highland Glen community in April in partnership with Kim Worbington, another ICI site agent.
WHERE WAS SHE BEFORE?
Bovis Homes, for about a year and a half.
HOW DID SHE GET INTO REAL ESTATE?
She started her career in property management where she stayed for five years. Before property management she was in retail sales. “I went from selling jewelry to houses.”
WHY DID SHE DECIDE TO GO INTO SITE SALES?
“I have a background of construction. My father is a retired custom homebuilder and I have been around construction all my life and I have never had the desire to go into general real estate.”
WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT IT?
Voyles enjoys that ICI builds a lot of custom homes. “I really enjoy being about to sit down with a client and create what they want. Since I grew up around new construction, it has always been my thing. I like going over blueprints and creating a house the customer wants. We have about 20-25 plans that we build from and we will customize them to fit the customer’s needs.”
HIGHLAND GLEN?
There will be about 265 homes in this new Scottish/English themed community. The price range begins in the $320,000’s and has gone as high as $750,000. Since the models have opened, they have sold 34 homes. “We have been on a very fast pace without any signs of slowing down. We just opened our fourth new furnished model home.” The community will be gated and have a swimming pool, gathering pavilion, tot lot, fitness center and a golf putting green.
SCOTTISH/ENGLISH THEMED?
The community offers homes with the Old World look with either brick or stone accents and paver driveways along with English Garden landscaping.
“The big attraction that we are seeing is that it is new and different. People are tired of the same old same old stucco houses. We’ve had a lot of people relocating from the North and this is what they are used to and what they like. We are finding a lot of move-up buyers and others who want to downsize. We also have buyers from surrounding communities who are looking for something new.”
WHAT HAS HELPED YOU MOST TO GET YOU WHERE YOU ARE TODAY?
“A lot of hard work and dedication.”
LESSONS LEARNED?
“Listen to what your buyer’s needs are and what they are wanting in a new home.”
