Springfield Restoration Group, a builder of new homes exclusively in Springfield, held a home tour at two of their properties Thursday. Although new construction, the houses are built to resemble existing, vintage architecture in the area from designers such as Klutho and Saxelbye. The two-story show homes feature front porches and balconies, fireplaces, hardwood floors downstairs and an alley system, connecting the homes to garages in the rear. Average prices are in the mid-to-high $100,000s.

“This is the best neighborhood in town,” said Mack Bissette, one of the SRG representatives. “It’s got a great history and it [sales volume] is on fire right now.”

The show homes were decorated with paintings and sculptures by local artists.
