• The Jacksonville Chapter of the Federal Bar Association will hold its monthly meeting Tuesday at noon at the Omni. City Council member Lake Ray will discuss a new mass transit system and the new Duval County Courthouse. Reservations must be made by 10 a.m. Monday. Call 354-5500 for details.

• County Court Judge Sharon Tanner is the speaker at the Christian Legal Society meeting Sept. 12 at 12:15 p.m. at Sterling’s in the Seminole Club. RSVP by Wednesday to Jane Arnold at 387-5400, Ext. 34.

• A Flea Market Sale has been scheduled for Sept. 12 at Hemming Plaza. The sale is being sponsored by the Public Buildings Division of the United Way Foundation and donations are still be accepted.

• Wild Birds Unlimited is planning to open a second store in the Julington Village Shopping Center by the end of the year.

• An opening reception for The Collection of Saul and Judy Eisen is scheduled for Thursday at 7 p.m. at the University Gallery at the University of North Florida. The exhibition runs through Oct. 23.
