The Christian Professionals Resource hosted its annual Legislation Appreciation Day luncheon Thursday at the Radisson. Representatives from the School Board, City Council, courthouse and mayor’s office attended. Sheriff John Rutherford led with opening remarks and Pete Jackson, chief community officer for the mayor’s office, closed with a prayer. “I actually didn’t even know that the group had been in existence for as long as it has,” said Jackson, “but it’s nice to be able to participate with an event where people of faith can come together.”
