Looking for clues

The International Resource Center of Jacksonville hosted a group of judges, attorneys, legal secretaries and legal administrators from the National Police of Ecuador last week to point out the similarities and differences with their justice system and that of the United States. Along with a Spanish-speaking interpreter, the entourage toured the Duval County Courthouse, the U.S. Courthouse, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, Victim Services Center and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. After the extensive tour, the group left Friday for Gainesville to tour the University of Florida. Florida is the last of the three states left on the group’s itinerary in order to learn more about modernizing their autonomous police judicial system to prevent internal corruption.
