Mongo’s Flat Hot Grill, the Landing’s newest restaurant, opened this week.
“It’s been really exciting,” said co-owner Linda Hurd. “It started kind of slow on Monday, but we’re getting more and more busy every day.”
Featuring a do-it-yourself approach to lunch and dinner, Mongo’s customers can select a meat and various vegetables and seasonings to create their own meal. The ingredients are cooked on an oversized grill, located in the main dining room.
“We’re still brand new,” said Hurd, “but we’re confident we’ll establish a good reputation downtown very soon.”
