Boasting high test scores and solid grade point averages, Douglas Anderson School of the Arts principal Jackie Cornelius said the school produces not only artistic students, but also intelligent ones.
At Monday’s Rotary Club of Jacksonville meeting at the Omni, Cornelius said DA’s music program is among the best of its kind. She added that, when Newsweek rated the best academic high schools in the nation, the school was in the top 2 percent.
“We have had the pleasure of teaching some very wonderful and talented children,” said Cornelius, “and what’s even better, is that they continue to make the most of their talents and strive for excellence.”
