• Dr. Bruce Taylor, founder of Taylor Engineering, Inc., received the prestigious Outstanding Service to the Engineering Profession award from the Florida Engineering Society (FES). The award recognized Taylor’s exemplary service to the profession and society. Also, David L. Stites has joined Taylor Engineering as environmental services director.
• Javida Johnson has joined Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida as a match support specialist. Javida, a Stanton High School graduate, earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of South Florida. Javida will be supporting relationships between matches, helping them to reach their goals.
• Beaver Street Enterprise Center program coordinator Jackie Perry has been named manager of the 25,000-square-foot business incubator. Perry joined the incubator staff in 2003 to set up, coordinate and direct training programs, workshops and other services for business participants. She takes over as manager at a time when the incubator has experienced meteoric growth, with 16 new businesses, four applicants that are close to being accepted into the program and several more in final stages of the application process.
