The I.M. Sulzbacher Center for the Homeless announced plans for a Super Challenge during a ceremony Wednesday.

In a collaborative effort with Delores and Wayne Weaver, Sulzbacher Center president and CEO Sherry Burns said the Weavers have agreed to donate $39, a nod to the upcoming Super Bowl, for every $33 general admission ticket sold for the Transformations benefit in September.

That event, said Burns, is a tribute to individuals whose lives have been changed by their experiences at the Sulzbacher Center.

“Our goal,” said Transformations chair Julia Sullivan, “is to raise as many funds as we can so that we can greatly assist the homeless population in Jacksonville. We cannot thank the Weavers enough for their generosity, but we also need to be sure to do our part and accept this Super Challenge and buy tickets.”

Sullivan said upwards of $32,000 could be raised through the Weavers’ ticket matching donations.
