The Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association held its annual Christmas party Thursday night at Pastiche in the Avondale/Ortega area. As part of its holiday celebration, JWLA has a holiday project every year where members do something to help a local charity and this year the group chose to aid Families First, a community service and affordable housing initiative group.
“We usually do something that benefits women in need in the community,” said JWLA president Paola Brice.
Members attending the party were asked to bring either school supplies, books or educational games to be donated to Families First. Brice said JWLA’s holiday project has supported many groups in the past, including the Hubbard House, the Dress for Success program, HabiJax and different Duval County school board programs.
