Mayor John Peyton joined U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown and representatives of U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson and U.S. Rep. Andrew Crenshaw Wednesday to congratulate the I.M. Sulzbacher Center for the Homeless for receiving a $1,187,000 competitive grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The grant will help house, care for and improve the quality of life for 150 homeless men with AIDS over the next three years. The Sulzbacher Center is one of only 10 programs in the nation awarded a HOPWA (Housing Opportunities for People with AIDS) grant from HUD.
