Dr. Jimmy R. Jenkins Sr. (center), president of Edward Waters College, announced on Wednesday the hiring of two men to expand the school’s athletics, fund-raising and community relations efforts. Former National Football League All-Pro Johnny Rembert (left) is the new athletic director. He will oversee the activities of the athletics department, with special emphasis on fund raising. He replaces Bob Alan, who has moved to the Division of Institutional Advancement as associate vice president. John G. Howell (right) was named vice president of Institutional Advancement. He will be responsible for raising funds through sponsored programs, private gifts, government grants and fellowships, and corporate contributions. From June 1996 to September 2003, Howell served as vice president for Institutional Advancement at Baptist College of Florida in Graceville.
