The Florida Ballet closes its Summer Intensive study program July 31 with a Summer Scorchers program at the Florida Theatre.
The performance will take the audience from the romance of the classics, through the glamour of the Big Band era to the evocative rhythms of early South American cultures, say Florida Ballet artistic director Laurie Byrd.
“The special feature of the evening is our Equal Footing Project bringing together our dancers with the musicians of Synergy, directed by Philip Pan, concertmaster for the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra.
The evening feature the professional dancers from the Florida Ballet and the Florida Ballet Ensemble and selected advanced students from the intensive study program.
The show begins at 7:30 p.m. For ticket information, call the Florida Theatre at 355-2787 or the Florida Ballet at 353-7518.
